„In IPC we have been learning about a topic called Fit for life.

„We have been told that at the end of out topic we will be running  a marathon.

„These next few weeks we will be training and learning to achieve the goal which is to run a marathon and understand how we can live an unhealthy or healthy.

In literacy we have been learning about newspapers .

• We have done pieces of homework like reading a newspaper article and writing the 4ws for them.
• The 4ws are when, what, where, who.
• We have also done pieces of learning in school about newspapers.
• This has helped us make our writing better and we now understand the difference between stories and newspaper articles.

  SWIMMING

• Swimming is a life saving sport it can help you if you are drowning.
• In our school we learn how to swim in year 5.
• Normally we go swimming on a Wednesday.
• In our school we travel by coach to Harrow Leisure Centre.
• Harrow Leisure Centre is the centre we go swimming in.
• Some children also swim lengths.

  CODING

• In class we have been doing Student Coding ICT.
• Student Coding is a program we use to learn how to make games and to also find out how complex or easy making games is.
• In Student Coding there are lessons on how we can make our own app or game.

  IPC

• In IPC we have been learning about healthy eating.
• We have created food plates that we think are a healthy meal to eat in a day.
• In our food plates we have lots of fruit and vegetables and a little bit of junk and unhealthy food.

  NEWSPAPERS

• In literacy we have used newspaper articles to write our own pieces of newspaper articles.
• We have included a catchy headline and a by line.
• We are getting better and better at writing newspaper articles.

RED NOSE DAY

• On Friday the 24th of March we celebrated red nose day.
•  Everyone had to were  pyjamas and they had to bring 50p for charity.
• School council had done a wonderful Assembly.

SALT DOUGH

• 5MW made salt dough on Thursday.
• Some of the children did some for mother’s day like this.
• This was done by a girl in 5MW her name is Nidhi.
• The first step to doing this was making the shape.
• The second step was baking it.
• The third and final step was painting it.

I.C.T

• The past two weeks in I.C.T we have been trying to use Sketchup.
• We have been using Sketchup to make and design houses.
• We have been learning about the tools and how to use them.
• For example, the push and pull button makes a 2d shape a 3d shape.
• We have also started to design the inside of our house

I am writing to propose giving children 2 hours of playtime a day. I think and so do many others that this would increase happiness and the children will have used up most of their energy. Due to this you will not have to tell anyone off or tell pupils to stop talking while you are teaching. So, do you want you and your children to be happy or not?

• For ICT we have been doing tangrams this week.
• We used Sketch Up to make a house.
• It was very fun and amazing to do.

Line Dancing

• As a year, Year 5 have been rehearsing to do a performance of line dancing.
• We have been learning all the steps ready for the end of the week.
• At the end of the week we will be performing to parents .
• Showing them all the different things we can do.
